· Financial Institutions & Markets – Analysis of the Shanghai Stock and Bond markets, including the newly established SHIBOR rate, new IPOs in stocks and bonds, = the newly emerging mutual funds industry as well as the vastly improving and hu= gely profitable insurance business.

· Financial Management – Brought practical financial analysis to Chinese students in English. = Students presented group analysis of $150 million capital budgeting proposals for new innovative projects in the People’s Republic of China. A company analysis was previously presented. <= /p>

· English Language Teaching – One 10 week term of teaching and learnin= g the requirements of foreign language students who wish to travel abroad to lear= n in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. Innovation was the key to catching= and maintaining their attention.<= /o:p>

2005 – 2007: Visiting Business Professor, Business Administra= tion Department, Mesa State College

·      =     Entrepre= neurial Finance – Case study approach was used to analyze cash flo= w, from production schedules and cash conversion cycles to build/burn rates and free cash flow. Excel spreads= heets were an integral part of the course. = Three local guest entrepreneurs and a local banker made presentation= s.

·         Internat= ional Financial Management – Country risk and company analysis papers increas= ed the depth of student understanding in this financial economics class. Excel spreadsheets were emphasized.

·         MBA Finance and Managerial Finance required financial analysis papers of a corporation. Spreadsheet anal= yses were required in the MBA class and for capital budging analysis.

·         Principles of Macroeconomics papers included allocation of resources (Katrin= a), deficit/debt analysis, the “guest worker” program and trade deficit/valuation of the dollar issues.

·         Public Economics – a Taxpayer Bill of Rig= hts (TABOR) research paper detailing the affect the constitutional amendment on= Grand Junction inc= luding a presentation by the city Finance Director.

My proposal to implement technology via inter= active TV for Financial Management classes was a catalyst in the development of a Bachelor’s degree (offered through distance learning) for the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Four alternate broadcasting sites = were put into service during the spring semester, while researching new and appropriate methods on how to innovate incorporating technology. Lotus Screen Cam, Blackboard.com, = Anlon, WebCT, and Toolbook were among the products scrutinized and presented.

·       July 1999 -= Samuel C. Boswell Professor of Busine= ss Administration

The East Central University Foundation bestowed the award “in recognition= as outstanding faculty member within the School of Business<= /st1:PlaceName>.” Objectives met included encouraging students and faculty to recognize how learning techniques could be utilized= to enhance investment strategies. The ECU Investment Club and Boswell Lecture were the vehicles that allowed me to perform this objective.

S. C. Boswell Lecture – Actively recruited Dr. Mark C. Snead, President of Tradetools, Inc., who shared his passion for investing by presenting a lecture to the community, faculty and students entitled “Making Better Investment Timing Decisions: Understanding Fundamental= and Technical Market Conditions.” Professor Snead’s presentation included the principles of pers= onal financial management and why an investor should combine fundamental and tec= hnical investing. The event was high= ly successful, providing lively open discussion and increased student/faculty interaction.

ECU Invest= ment Club &#= 8211; As mentor, I provided expertise and guidance to the Club as students organi= zed, wrote the Partnership Agreement and By Laws and initiated investments. Expertise and guidance included assistance in acquiring the EIN number, broker and National Association of Investment Club affiliation.

·       June 1999 -= Technology Mediated Learning: Enhanci= ng the Managerial Experience

Mem= ber appointment by President Bill Cole to the AACSB and American Product and Quality Center (APQC) benchmarking study.&= nbsp; As appointment member, duties included benchmarking MBA programs at = Ohio University, Duke and Wake Forest Universities, UCLA and the University of Phoenix. An immediate benefit was my use of Interactive TV and asynchronous media in my classes permitting students to enhance their class experience. Student satisfaction increased through greater access to the profess= or, other students’ knowledge and my ability to answer questions more eff= iciently.

Instructional Technology Collaborative Effort, Quality Initiative Grant

Chosen to participate in the grant du= e to the personal initiative I had shown by developing my class web pages by President Bill Cole and Vice President Duane Anderson for Academic Affairs = for East Central University. Prior to my participation as proje= ct leader, the University lacked fundamental knowledge and experience necessary for the construction of class web pages regarding business, finance, and economics. Our group’s creation of a “Consumer Finance” CD ROM was very well received = in a presentation to the Oklahoma Board of Regents. The grant further allowed integrat= ion of Web based instruction, video conferencing and technology into the classroom. My Financial Manag= ement class in Spring 2000 was being taught utilizing OneNet Interactive TV to st= udents in Shawnee, Oklahoma enabling them to work full ti= me pursuant to obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Grant funding provided release tim= e to learn Toolbook Instructor II, Designer’s Edge, and FrontPage software= . Students posted favorable reviews regarding my extensive web page system including PowerPoint presentations a= nd assignments that were easily “surfed”.

The Business Club = also initiated, organized and developed the ECU Investment Club (including the Partnership Agreement, By Laws and NAIC membership).

Actively participated in revising guidelines during my first year on the committee a= nd awarded the Chair position. D= uring the second year, the committee regained faith among the faculty and student= s in the selection process via increased marketing, publicity, and integrity.
